Hi, I’m Christine Ameigh, owner of Slide Food Cart & Beyond Catering. I opened Slide One in August of 2012, after moving back to Wisconsin from California. I loved street food in L.A. and decided to give it a shot in my hometown! Great tasting food is a passion I have had since I can remember & I work hard to create delicious food for you to enjoy!
With the help of a few friends & a supporting family, we kicked-off my concept at the inaugural year of “Isthmus A la Carts” with a tent. Then continued on to other Madison festivals throughout the summer of 2012 while the cart was being built. Our first lunch location was in front of Grainger Hall on the UW Madison campus, it was there that I worked to fine-tune the menu, which is always a work in progress. We moved to Library Mall that winter where we stayed until April 2014 and now we have hopefully found a semi-permanent location on the Capitol Square. In the meantime, I aspired to expand & purchased and remodeled a used cart which we now call “Slide 2”, this cart is all over Madison in different business parks for lunch.
Here we are in 2017, I employ 12 amazing people on the two food carts, we have an ever-expanding catering business (Beyond Catering) and we sell our hand-cut potato chips in grocery stores around town! Also, don't forget to check out the other two organizations I've started in 2015, "Let's Eat Out!" and "Carts for Community" (click on the logos to access more information). As an entrepreneur, I continue to expand my horizons which includes creating local dinner hotspots and a non-profit organization that brings our communities closer together.
